MHEC (Methyl Hydroxy Ethyl Cellulose)

Hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose (HEMC) is a non-ionic cellulose ether mixture made from cotton and wood through processes such as alkalization, ethylene oxide, and chloromethane etherification. It has good dispersion, emulsification, thickening, bonding, water retention, and encapsulation properties, and is a thickener, binder, moisture retention agent, dispersant, suspension agent, emulsifier, and stabilizer. Widely used in building materials, water-based latex coatings, printing inks, daily chemicals, oil drilling and other fields, it is similar to HPMC in nature, but due to the presence of hydroxyethyl, HEMC is easier to dissolve in water, the solution is more compatible with salt, and has a higher gel temperature.
